Description
The 4352B Tricon Communication Module (TCM) supports Modbus communication and serves as a key module for industrial process data exchange in Tricon controllers. The 4352B can be configured as a Modbus master or slave through its NET 1 and NET 2 ports, allowing communication with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), operator workstations, or other Modbus-enabled devices. Each port can be independently set as a master or slave to meet various industrial application requirements.

The serial ports on the 4352B TCM are specifically designed for communication with Modbus devices, allowing flexible port configuration according to control needs. Through the NET 1 or NET 2 ports, the 4352B supports Modbus TCP communication, enabling efficient data transfer within industrial networks.

In typical applications, the 4352B operates as a Modbus slave to exchange data with DCS systems, while it can also be configured as a Modbus master when needed to directly control or monitor downstream devices. The 4352B is designed so that each port can operate independently, ensuring flexible and reliable communication to meet the requirements of complex industrial environments.

FAQS

The following is a list of questions commonly asked by our customers. Please contact us if you have a question about our process that is not answered below.
Can 4352B run RS-232 and RS-485 at the same time?
Yes. Each of the four ports can be independently set to RS-232 or RS-485 in TriStation.
How is the RS-485 terminator enabled?
Check “Enable Termination” in TriStation; an internal relay connects the resistor—no external jumper required.
Is it possible to set the 4352B Ethernet port to 10 Mbps?
No. The MAC is fixed at 100 Mbps. Use 4351B or 4353 NET1 if 10 Mbps is required.
What is the typical power consumption?
4 W typical, 6 W max, powered from the Tricon backplane (+5 V & +24 V).
