Features:
- Provides seven Universal Backplane positions on both the high-speed PCI bus and the serial I/O bus.
- The backplane accepts IC695 modules and supported IC693/IC694 modules while distributing power from the installed RX3i supply.
- Mechanical alignment revisions improve module-to-connector engagement; newer -JC hardware also has a CPU firmware requirement.

IC695CHS007 Connector Map
- Slot zero: The leftmost position accepts the IC695 power supply rather than a CPU or I/O module.
- Slots one through five: These positions provide both the PCI connector and the serial backplane connector.
- Slot six: The rightmost position is PCI-only and therefore accepts only supported single-width IC695 modules.
- Ground bar: Use the integral bar for module and cable-shield bonding.
IC695CHS007 Module Selection
- PCI modules: IC695 CPU, communication, and I/O modules require a compatible PCI position.
- Serial modules: Supported IC693 and IC694 devices belong only in dual-connector positions.
- Excluded device: The IC695LRE001 serial bus transmitter is not supported by this seven-slot backplane.
- Revision dependency: Later -JC hardware requires the corresponding CPU firmware level.
IC695CHS007 Mechanical Diagnostics
- Recognition fault: Inspect connector engagement and recessed or bent pins when a configured module is absent.
- Slot mismatch: Compare the module bus type with the actual connector available in that position.
- Ground path: Investigate noise-related faults by checking the backplane bond and shield terminations.
- Revision record: Use the full backplane revision when correlating mechanical fit or CPU compatibility symptoms.
IC695CHS007 Panel Build
- Mounting plane: Fasten the extrusion to a rigid conductive panel with the required earth bond.
- Clearance: Reserve the required space for module insertion, wiring, and airflow.
- Population order: Place the supply first, then assign CPU and I/O modules according to each slot’s connector type.
- Final inspection: Check slot labels, connector pins, grounding, and the downloaded rack layout before applying power.
